It's the Holiday Season, So Whoopdy Do and Dickery Dock, Don't Forget to Hang Up Your Sock

I have an amazing and talented husband! He likes to rearrange and decorate the front room for the seasons. Below are some pictures exibiting his genious! He made about fourty carmel apples for halloween treats. We did not get any trick-or-treaters so we went and visited people and it was soooo fun! I like giving things on halloween! Th
is year I was Mrs. Tweedy, the evil chicken farmer; and Keefe was Red Beard, the pirate.

We had the most amazing designer pumpkins this year! We got them at the farmer's market. Yesterday I decided that it was time for the pumpkins to bite the dust, so I got to work making pumpkin-pecan butter. I couldn't just cut the pumpkins up into chunks without them having the chance to live out their potential so this is what we did (I carved the orange and Keefe the white)-->
I earned a blister churnning that food mill! See how fast I went- you can't even see my hand:) I have not tasted the pumkin butter yet, but it smelled very good. I canned it all, which always sounds easy, but six and a half hours later leaves you nearly insane. The thing is, I only processed the big orange pumpkin, and the canning part only took about 45 minutes. It was a very big pumpkin!
Keefe has been making the transition to Christmas by listening to The Nightmare Before Christmas music. I think he may be having withdrawals:) Here is a picture of our Christmas front room! Keefe did it.

What We're Do'in Now

Keefe and I have been married for a little over two months now and love every minute! We live in a small two room apartment in Laramie, Wyoming. If you every drive through, do call, or better yet, stay a few days! Keefe works full-time and goes to work full-time. He is a baker for the University of Wyoming and studies business with the plan to attend culinary school next fall. I work in a dental office as an assistant.

We have loved the harvest season so far and have taken full advantage of fresh produce and meat from the farmers' market. Our favorites are the peaches; which we canned ourselves!- and our beautiful pumpkins which we have displayed around our home. Instead of going out to eat we treated ourselves to baby back ribs and pork tenderloins from the Blue Ribbon BBQ guy at the farmers' market. Delicious!!!

Keefe is gearing up for his favorite holiday- Halloween.

I am loving the fall season. It has been absolutely breath taking with the yellows, golds, oranges, reds, and deep purples all over town. We have been fortunate to not have had a snow yet and rather warm sunny days, so it has been very nice indeed! Amber and I dressed in our best fall garb and took model shots of eachother. I am usually not one for this kind of thing, but I had a great time and Amber noted that when I got married, all of a sudden I got cute. I attribute it to my wonderfully fashion-minded husband.

MARRIED AT LAST!

August 6, 2010
What a beautiful day! The temple was amazing, and Keefe was amazing- isn't he handsome too- and everything was wonderful! It rained during the photos, but the storm blew over quickly, leaving us with perfect light and temperature. I could not have asked for more. It was so good to have the family there supporting us and sharing the love of the moment. Honestly, it is just starting to sink in that I am married. Keefe is the best guy in the whole world and I feel so lucky to have him forever.

Laramie Soccer Champions!!!

Last night my city league soccer team claimed the championship title! The thing is that we won it because the other team did not have enough players show up and had to forfeit. The other team is made up of extremely talented players who played in high school and at the university level within the past few years. Ya, they creamed us every game we played against them- except for last week when we earned a tied score during a thunder storm. (That is rain in the picture- not snow:) ) It was so fun playing with a team who worked together. I was the goaly!!! I know, crazy! Who likes getting soccer balls kicked at them? I always felt very inadequate, but I was up for the challenge and I learned a lot. My team is AWESOME!!!

Da DaDa Da, Da Da DaDa!

The day has arrived!!! Keefe and I are engaged!!!! We are getting married August 6th in the Denver, Colorado Temple. So, here is the story: Keefe took me on a wonderful picnic in a nearby forested area called Happy Jack. The sky was partially overcast with fluffy gray clouds. The breeze was blowing lightly and the mosquitoes were all excited that we came to visit. There weren't a ton of mosquitoes so it was still nice. We ate, and talked, and stared at each other, and then the moment arrived. Keefe pulled out a ring box and slowly asked, "Would you like...(and then he opened the box as he said the rest) to have a bubble gum war?" and inside the box, where the ring should be, were two pieces of Chicklets gum. I said yes, but we already had gum because I had some and had offered it earlier. By the way, I never have gum, and I totally felt bad that I had ruined his great gum plan. And then he pulled out the ring and gave it to me and asked me if I would like to be Mrs, Fillerup and I said, "YES!" Then the sun was going down so he took me home. It was wonderful and I have felt very good ever since. The ring is gorgeous! Keefe picked it out himself. I tell you what, I got me the best guy on the face of the planet! We are excited!!!!!

Pussy Willow Hunting!

Last Sunday was beautifully cloudy, but nice, so Amber, Keefe and I went pussy willow hunting! It was really fun. They grow along rivers and streams and come in all sorts of colors. Some are on yellow sticks, some on red or brown. Some of the fluffies are white and some are gray or black. We got a whole bunch and plan on making wreaths with them. It has been a long winter, so it is nice to see some growth happening.

What I'm Up To..up to? up to?

Keefe and I went to Mesa for spring break and went to the Phoenix Zoo and on a hike in the desert! Yes, he always wears a button up collared shirt and tie. I'm working on helping him not do that all the time, but he sure looks dapper every time we are together! We are enjoying courtship...hmmm, ya. Future post on that subject is eminent.
I googled my name and there are a lot of funny looking Ann Hurst's out there- mostly old. If you google Keefe Fillerup his picture comes up. Mmm, handsome.
I have been watching American Idol this season and so far my favorite is Crystal Bowersox. She's cool and never disappoints.

His Name is Keefe

I am dating a wonderful young man named Keefe. He is smart, kind, classic, suave, a good dancer, and a fantastic cook. He thinks I am "fantastic" and that is fun. He comes from a wonderful family of eleven children. We are taking it slow, but I pretty much spend all my free time with him. Perhaps there is hope!
